The Opportunity:
WSP is currently seeking a Civil Engineering Student to join our Transportation & Infrastructure department, located at our Summerside office. Using your engineering skills, you will have the opportunity to be involved in the design and construction administration of a wide variety of municipal infrastructure projects including drinking water and wastewater systems, transportation and road networks, residential and commercial developments, and stormwater/flood risk management.

A day in the life:
- As a student, you'll be responsible for coordinating/administering assigned projects under the supervision of a professional engineer. This will include site review to determine if the project is progressing in accordance with the drawings and specifications, ensuring compliance with quality assurance procedures, and liaising with project stakeholders (including Project Managers, Engineers, External Contractors).
- Construction-related field work may also include collection of as-built construction data, water/sewer testing, and preparation of deficiency lists. Survey training will be provided if required.
- You'll work directly with our municipal engineering design teams, which may include development of hydrologic/hydraulic models, design drawings, specifications, cost estimates, technical reports, etc.
- You'll also have the opportunity collaborate with our many counterparts in all our different disciplines at WSP to provide expertise and client deliverables on projects.
What you'll bring to WSP ...
- Ongoing university education in civil engineering
- Have an interest in the design and construction of municipal servicing and transportation systems, and/or stormwater and flood risk management.
- You enjoy a combination of both fieldwork and office-based work. You aren't afraid to get your hands dirty!
- You are a self-starter, are driven to learn, and keen to engage with a multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience using the MS Office suite of products. Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, Survey Total Station, GPS, and/or hydraulic modelling software may also be considered an asset
- You hold a PEI Driver's License. Access to a vehicle is considered an asset
