Job Description/Accountabilities

As an Associate on the Client Portfolio Management (CPM) team, you will be part of a team that acts as a key link between the investment teams managing the investment strategies and the various stakeholders that rely on this information.

Reporting to the Vice President & Director, the Associate will assist the Client Portfolio Managers in providing subject matter expertise across TDAM's investment strategies. As an Associate, you will assist CPMs by performing ongoing research, investment solution analysis, presentation design and investment writing.

Accountabilities

Support the CPMs to serve as a key liaison between Portfolio Management, Sales, Sales Enablement and Marketing and Communications

Write investment articles, investment commentaries, trade rationales and respond to queries

Assist in designing and constructing presentation content to enhance investment messaging for TDAM's investment strategies to external prospects and existing clients

Manage regular reports and databases

Assist in analyzing investment portfolios and provide insights on performance drivers, risk factors, and competitive characteristics

Assist in analyzing and communicating given topics related to financial markets and our investment capabilities. Topics would primarily focus on the practical application of TDAM's philosophy and process, investment positioning, market and economic outlook

Aid the broader CPM team as required and assist on projects as needed

Qualifications/Skills/Experience
  • The ideal candidate will have a CFA (or pursuing) and/or graduate degree plus a relevant undergraduate degree.
  • 2 to 4 years' experience in the investment industry with an understanding or knowledge of various investment strategies (fixed income, fundamental equity, quantitative equity, alternative investments) along with an understanding or knowledge of portfolio construction concepts
  • Must have exceptional writing skills and be able to present ideas clearly.
  • Strong aptitude with technology with an ability to assimilate complex and varied market data. Specifically, proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint) is required and familiarity with Bloomberg/Factset/Morningstar Direct is a plus
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to present investment insights creatively
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
  • Team player with the ability to thrive in a high-performance culture operating under time sensitive deadlines
  • Intellectual curiosity and a strong passion for capital markets
  • Bilingual, French- English is an asset
